Standing proudly along National Highway 31, the Gateway to Howly is more than an entrance. It is a visual celebration of the history, art, traditions and cultural identity of Howly and the wider Barpeta region.

৩১ নং ৰাষ্ট্ৰীয় ঘাইপথেৰে হাউলীৰ মাজেৰে যোৱা পথত নিৰ্মাণ কৰা হৈছে অসমৰ ভিতৰতে এখন অনন্য আদৰণী তোৰণ। এই দৃষ্টিনন্দন তোৰণখন অসমৰ বিশিষ্ট কলা নিৰ্দেশক তথা ২০১৭ চনৰ সংগীত নাটক একাডেমি বঁটা প্ৰাপক নুৰুদ্দীন আহমেদে নিৰ্মাণ কৰিছে।
তোৰণখনৰ এক অংশত সত্ৰীয়া কলা-সংস্কৃতিৰ বিভিন্ন প্ৰতিচ্ছবি স্থাপন কৰা হৈছে। বৰপেটা আৰু হাউলী অঞ্চল সত্ৰকেন্দ্ৰিক হোৱা বাবে গুৰু আসন, গড়ুৰ পক্ষী, ভোৰতাল, বায়নৰ খোল বাদন আৰু কালিয়দমনৰ দৰে সাংস্কৃতিক উপাদান ইয়াত প্ৰতিফলিত হৈছে।
বৰপেটা জিলাৰ কাঁহ-পিতল শিল্পৰ বাবে বিখ্যাত সৰ্থেবাৰীক প্ৰতিফলিত কৰিবলৈ তোৰণখনৰ মাজত এখন সুবিশাল শৰাই স্থাপন কৰা হৈছে।
হাউলীৰ নিজস্ব পৰিচয় আৰু আবেগৰ প্ৰতীক ৰাস মন্দিৰকো তোৰণখনৰ নক্সাত স্থান দিয়া হৈছে। একে সময়তে কোকৰাঝাৰ, বাকসা আৰু আশে-পাশে থকা অঞ্চলসমূহৰ বড়ো আৰু অন্যান্য জনজাতীয় সংস্কৃতিকো তোৰণখনত উপস্থাপন কৰা হৈছে।

What the Gateway Represents
Sattriya Heritage
Gurusana, Garuda, Bhor Taal, Khol and scenes associated with Sattriya traditions reflect the spiritual and artistic heritage of Barpeta and Howly.
Sarai & Metal Craft
A monumental Sarai represents the famous bell-metal and brass craft tradition associated with Sarthebari in Barpeta district.
Ras Mandir
The Ras Mandir represents an important emotional and cultural symbol of Howly, connecting the gateway with the town's living traditions.
Tribal Heritage
Bodo and other indigenous cultural traditions from neighbouring regions are represented within the architectural story.
Manas
Tiger and rhinoceros motifs connect Howly with the natural heritage of Manas National Park and the Manas Tiger Reserve.
A Welcome to Assam
The gateway serves as a monumental welcome to travellers entering Howly while presenting a visual story of the region.
The Gateway's Journey
Foundation Stone
The foundation stone for the Adarani Toron at Howly was laid on National Highway 31.
Official Inauguration
The completed gateway was inaugurated by Assam Tourism Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah.
Nuruddin Ahmed
The design was created by renowned art director Nuruddin Ahmed along with his son Dip Ahmed.
