A song he wanted Zubeen to hear.

Zubeen Garg's Maya is deeply connected with the musical memory of Assam. The original song was released as part of Zubeen Garg's early musical catalogue.

Bhargav Ojapali created an English-language reimagining of the song as a tribute to the music and legacy of Zubeen Garg.

The project was more than a translation. Bhargav re-produced the track, worked on the mix and master, created the visual treatment and added new musical elements to present the song to a wider audience.

Bhargav has described the project as a deeply personal tribute to Zubeen Garg. There was also one hope behind the project: that Zubeen Garg himself could hear the new version and react to it.

That moment never came.

But the music became a way of saying thank you.
